Marketview Heights Association was founded in 1976 to address housing abandonment and neighborhood blight in the Marketview Heights community, which suffered a state of decline beginning in the 1950's through the early 1970's. Since its formation, Marketview Heights Association has been involved in housing related issues, community organizing, and crime prevention. Marketview Heights Association has built, or rehabilitated many properties in the Marketview Heights area. Marketview Heights Association has also helped create block clubs that participate in activities in the Marketview Heights area. In addition, Marketview Heights Association has partnered with other organizations and the City of Rochester to revitalize the Marketview Heights area. Today, after 31 years of service to the community, Marketview Heights Association stands strong, and is committed more than ever to live up to the task for which it was created. With a very committed staff, and the leadership of its board of directors, Marketview Heights Association is ready for the challenges the Marketview Heights area faces today. |
